No Poverty

Poverty Among People with Disabilities: A significant proportion of people with disabilities in Uganda live in poverty. Around 80% of individuals with disabilities are estimated to be unemployed, and those who do work often earn less than their non-disabled counterparts.

Ability Forward

Ability Forward: Empowering and Supporting People with Disabilities

At Ability Forward, we are committed to empowering and supporting adolescents with disabilities. Many of these young individuals have never had the opportunity to be enrolled in the regular education system. That is why we believe that practical vocational studies often provide a better alternative for them than traditional academic education. Through partnerships with various learning institutions, we offer training in valuable skills such as carpentry, masonry, mechanics, hairdressing, and tailoring. By equipping these youth with these practical skills, we aim to enable them to lead independent lives and achieve financial self-sustainability.
