Rights-based approach to humanitarian interventions
The human rights framework is a cornerstone in our approach to humanitarian interventions. Ability Forward believes that access to healthcare and education is not a privilege. They are human rights, clearly enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
Additionally, the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1989, specifically addresses the rights of children, including the right to education. Article 28 of the CRC states: “1. States Parties recognize the right of the child to education, and with a view to achieving this right progressively and on the basis of equal opportunity.”

Commitment in all aspects of our actions
Every child, regardless of their circumstances or background, is entitled to certain fundamental rights – among others, right to access to health care services for children with disabilities.

Inclusive and Transparency through a Participatory Approach
We emphasize on a meaningful engagement with affected beneficiaries. We are committed to transparency, participation, and non-discrimination in all aspects of our actions – from needs assessment and program design to implementation and evaluation. We aim to ensure that all voices are heard, all perspectives are valued, and all rights are upheld throughout our response.

Empowerment through Dignity and Respect
By placing human dignity and rights at the forefront of our efforts, to ensure that the individual is empowered to realize their full potential and live with dignity and respect.
At Ability Forward, we believe in comprehensive rehabilitation for children with disabilities in low-resource communities. Through our partnerships with regional hospitals, we provide corrective surgery for a wide variety of medical conditions, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive. In addition, we are dedicated to inclusive education, working with local schools to empower children with disabilities and provide them with equal access to education. By involving parents, community leaders, and local authorities, we are actively changing misconceptions about physical disabilities and fostering a more inclusive society. Join us in paving the way for a brighter future for every child.
